A Premier League side are willing to offer Kalvin Phillips a lifeline in the English top-flight following the midfielder's torturous loan spell at West Ham, according to reports.

Phillips has recently returned to Manchester City for pre-season training while a deal is worked out to secure his departure as the midfielder looks to secure more regular playing time.

The 28-year-old signed a six-year contract at the Etihad when he was snapped up from Leeds in a £45m transfer in 2022, but quickly found himself warming the Etihad bench on a regular basis.

Phillips was limited to just 21 appearances during City's Treble-winning season, making only two starts in the Premier League, as boss Pep Guardiola deemed him surplus to requirements.

He spent the second half of last season on-loan at West Ham but failed to rediscover his best form with Phillips making just 10 appearances and falling out of favour with the club's supporters.

Everton are now searching for a replacement for Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana following his £50m departure for Aston Villa and are keen on Phillips, as reported by talkSPORT.

The former Leeds star is desperate to regain his place in the England squad after missing out on a place at Euro 2024 and the Toffees are likely a destination that is able to guarantee more regular playing opportunities.

However, financial constraints placed on the Merseyside club mean they are expected to only be able to offer City a loan proposal as Sean Dyche eyes new reinforcements after Everton narrowly avoided relegation last season.

Fulham are also monitoring Phillips' ongoing situation after losing Portuguese defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Everton are looking to finalise a deal for Napoli's Danish winger Jesper Lindstrom after personal terms were agreed with the 24-year-old.

Negotiations are now ongoing around a loan agreement for around £2million with an option to buy around £18m for the young forward.

Everton are attempting to conduct transfer business amid the backdrop of a failed takeover with American firm 777 Partners that was drawn out and later scrapped.
