Kansas City Chiefs CUT disgraced Isaiah Buggs after domestic violence charge and arrest for animal cruelty

Kansas City Chiefs have cut defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs after he was arrested on a charge of domestic violence and burglary. 

The 27-year-old was also arrested earlier this year for animal cruelty.

He was on a $1.3m deal to play for the Chiefs but, according to Tom Pelissero, Kansas City took the decision to move on from him on Monday. 

Buggs was arrested earlier in June after being accused of dragging the mother of his child down a set of steps and injuring her.

It emerged the woman told police Buggs broke into her home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with a tire iron at around 5:28am, according to TMZ. 

She claimed that he went upstairs to confront her before dragging her down the stairs.

The woman alleged that the incident caused her to break off several "clip-on toenails', while police noted that she had scratches on her wrist.

Buggs allegedly left the scene after the woman told him she was calling the police. He was located in a nearby Little Caesars parking lot and was placed under arrest.  

On May 30, Buggs handed himself into the police after being charged with two misdemeanor counts of second-degree animal cruelty in Tuscaloosa.

Buggs was accused of leaving two dogs on the back porch of his house, located near his alma mater, the University of Alabama.

According to legal documents, Tuscaloosa Police and Animal Control officers found a pitbull surrounded by feces and with no access to food or water.

First responders also found a black rottweiler mix locked in a metal cage - in direct sunlight - without access to food or water.

The civil petition says that the dogs were seized by the city because they were severely 'malnourished, emaciated and neglected.'

According to the docs, the residence appeared to be abandoned at the time of the initial call, though neighbors claimed the dogs had been out on the porch for at least ten days.

Investigators discovered that the house was being rented to Buggs and that his lease was terminated in April due to owing over $3,000 in back rent. Witnesses say that Buggs moved out of the house on or about March 19. 

The Tuscaloosa County Animal Shelter euthanized the pitbull after it became increasingly aggressive and failed heartworm treatment.
