While Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp complains about the scheduling of next Saturday’s match at Manchester City, Kyle Walker insists he is ‘as fresh as a daisy’ thanks to his manager, Pep Guardiola.

Walker, 33, played his 21st game of the season for club and country against Malta on Friday and flies with England to North Macedonia before the Premier League showdown.

‘I feel as fresh as a daisy,’ he says.

‘We’re going to get back from Macedonia early Tuesday morning but I have a good manager who gives us a couple of days off before the weekend.

‘Sometimes it’s a little tiring but I wouldn’t change my job for the world.’

Walker has enjoyed a renaissance after losing his starting place in the City and England teams.

‘Sports science has helped me massively. I do my gym work for my muscles and I’m still sharp.’

Manchester City take on Liverpool next Saturday in a massive clash in the Premier League.

Walker looks set to start on the right hand side of City's defence and will probably face the inform Luis Diaz who scored a brace for Columbia during the international break,
