Kylian Mbappe has been named in France's starting XI for their final Euro 2024 group stage clash against Poland.

The Les Blues captain was previously named on the bench for their previous goalless draw against the Netherlands after breaking his nose.

Tuesday's contest is the first time Mbappe has played since having his nose broken against Austria and will wear a protect face mask for the remainder of the tournament.

Mbappe previously looked in some discomfort when wearing his specially designed black protective mask during the warm-ups of France's last clash before taking it off while sat on the bench.

The 25-year-old had a specially designed face mask made for him after undergoing a procedure to fix his broken nose that prompted fears his tournament would be over.

France supporters turning up at the match in Dortmund wore masks similar to Mbappe

An original mask featured a French flag design that was later banned by UEFA due to it not conforming to their rules and regulations on face-wear, with Mbappe now having to wearing an all-black design.

Supporters wanted to show their support for the nation's golden child who previously guided France to the World Cup title in 2018 and the following final two years ago.

Thousands of France fans attending Tuesday's match in Dortmund showed up to the game wearing a brilliant array of face masks that pay homage to Mbappe.

Some supporters opted for a matching black face mask that Mbappe was wearing, while other wore his previous French-flag inspired design and one individual even turned up wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mask.

Poland arrived at the game with a special present for Mbappe in the form of a unique one-off protective mask designed by a Polish company and sent to Euro 2024 as a gift.

The design is based off the kids show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that Mbappe revealed he is a fan of.

Poland goalkeeper Marcin Bulka - who was a former team-mate with Mbappe at PSG - plans to give him the gift at the stadium most likely after the match.

Mbappe is expected to wear his protective mask for the remainder of the competition

Team manager Didier Deschamps previously claimed Mbappe was 'raring to go' following his injury and has subsequently been named to start upfront against Poland.

It is yet to be seen how the Real Madrid superstar will cope with his new face attire after it was revealed that he has been struggling to properly see out his mask.

'Breathing, no. But vision, yes. It limits vision a little. It's supposed to protect so in certain situations, it limits the angle of view,' Deschamps explained.

'A greater risk of playing in the middle? No, the contacts are everywhere, in all the duels. It all depends on the position. You have to get used to it, it feels like you have 3D glasses,' he added.
