Kyneton arrest: Five officers are taken to hospital after man dies while in custody

Five police officers have been taken to hospital as a precaution after a man died during an arrest.

The officers were visiting a home on Windridge Way in Kyneton, Victoria, at 2.30pm on Tuesday as part of an investigation. 

They arrested a 27-year-old man before he became unwell and unresponsive. 

Officers attempted to perform CPR on the man, but he died at the scene.

The man is believed to have taken an unknown substance.

Five police officers were taken to hospital as a precaution. 

The substance is believed to have been toxic. 

Homicide squad detectives will launch an investigation.
