Partners of Bayern Munich players are furious after being denied tickets for Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final clash against Arsenal.

The German giants travel to England's capital for the first leg of the two-match knockout tie on Tuesday, with only home fans being allowed at the European encounter.

Bayern were handed a suspended sentence by UEFA after several issues with pyrotechnics being set off in the stands at various games, the most recent incident occurring in the group stage clash with Lazio.

The punishment means no Bayern fans will be allowed to attend the upcoming match at the Emirates and Arsenal have also warned any supporters selling tickets to rival fans could be sanctioned.

However, despite the fan ban, there was still optimism amongst players wives and girlfriends who were hoping to enjoy a luxurious trip to London.

It is usual to see players being cheered on by their partners and family members lining the executive boxes at stadiums, but there will be no such sight at the home of Mikel Arteta's side.

The penalty imposed by UEFA has seen the ticket allocation usually supplied to players severely reduced and the majority of their other halves are set to miss out, as reported by BILD.

Club executives and members of support staff have been given priority status on available tickets and have joined members of Thomas Tuchel's team that travelled to England on Monday.

The wives of midfielder Joshua Kimmich and on-loan Tottenham defender Eric Dier have however travelled while others have stayed at home for the Champions League matchup.

The bizarre situation has given Arsenal a huge home advantage with Bayern's unconvincing form set to be tested further by a high-flying Gunners side that sit top of the Premier League table.

One player who could cause an upset back in familiar territory is Harry Kane who has continued his sensational goalscoring form since completing his move to Bayern from Tottenham in the summer.

The England captain scored his 38th goal of the season in Bayern's shock weekend defeat against Heidenheim and has previously found the back of the net 14 times versus Arsenal.
