LeBron James was left astounded by Aaron Rodgers' incredible return to practice with the New York Jets on Wednesday.

Less than three months since he limped out of his highly-anticipated Jets debut with a torn Achilles, Rodgers is already back on the grass and working towards a potential return to action in December.

Medical experts initially claimed it would take the 39-year-old quarterback between nine to 12 months to take part in high-level sport again, which sparked fears over his future in the game with his 40th birthday on the horizon.

However, after flying through his rehabilitation process at an extraordinary, unprecedented pace, Rodgers was able to rejoin his teammates in practice this week significantly earlier than planned.

And his remarkable recovery has blown LeBron away.

LeBron was completely blown away by the 39-year-old quarterback returning so quickly

The NBA legend quoted a Jets clip of Rodgers returning to practice on X and wrote: 'Wow!!! Simply INCREDIBLE!!

'Back where he belong! A-ROD'.

The Jets' clip on social media showed Rodgers simulating handoffs and taking light drop backs before tossing a pass.

According to ESPN reporter Rich Cimini, he had limited participation during a 30-minute open practice.

That included tossing with a staffer, warmup drills, light drop backs, and taking snaps under center.

After doing so against all the odds, Rodgers shared a clip of himself back in action on Instagram with the caption: 'Been a long 77 days. Good to be back on the field with the guys.'

Jets head coach Robert Saleh spoke to the media on Wednesday - confirming the team was opening Rodgers' 21-day practice window before a return.

'This isn't so much getting ready to play, more a progression in his rehab,' Saleh said, confirming that doctors are happy for him to step up his recovery.

Rodgers notably tore his Achilles tendon just four drives into his career with the Jets

'He's sacrificed so much already for the organization. It's a testament to who he is as a human.

'Instead of throwing to a strength and conditioning coach, he can throw to his teammates.

'We are under the impression that he will be back in 24, regardless of what happens.

'For Aaron, what he will be doing in practice, with regards to certain drills, there is no added risk to it. There are certain things he has been cleared for that we will allow him to do.'
