Leyland crash: Two dogs killed and woman in hospital after teenager ploughed into them on a motorbike

A woman is in hospital and two dogs have been killed after a teenager ploughed into them on a motorbike. 

The horror crash happened in Leyland yesterday morning. Police and paramedics arrived at Royal Avenue at 10.15am following reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a woman walking two dogs.

Lancashire Police confirmed that a woman in her 50s suffered a minor leg injury. Tragically, the two dogs died at the scene. 

An 18-year-old man from Leyland was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, criminal damage, ABH, driving without license and disqualified driving. He has been bailed until July pending further enquiries.

 In a statement, Lancashire Police told MailOnline: 'We were called at about 10.15am yesterday (Thursday, April 4) to a report of a collision on Royal Avenue, Leyland between a motorcycle and a woman walking two dogs. 

'The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, suffered a minor leg injury but very sadly the two dogs were killed. 

Following enquiries an 18-year-old man from Leyland was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, criminal damage, ABH, disqualified driving, driving no insurance. They have now been bailed until July.'
