Ligue 1 have yet to agree a deal with a broadcaster ahead of next season.

As reported by Sport Business, LFP are working on a back-up plan which would see them create their own channel as a subscription service.

The loss of Kylian Mbappe, who has joined Real Madrid on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, has hit Ligue 1 hard.

The three teams promoted to the top flight, Auxerre, Angers and Saint-Etienne, are especially in need for a broadcaster to be found.

RMC Sport report that the three promoted clubs aren't able to sign players while the league is without a broadcaster.

Kylian Mbappe's move to Real Madrid has represented a major blow for the French top flight

Clubs aren't currently being paid money by a broadcaster, which is having a severely negative effect on their finances.

The likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar have also left Ligue 1 in recent years, which has led to less overall interest in the division.

Paris Saint-Germain's dominance of the division has also made it less appealing for viewers

PSG won the title again last season as they finished nine points ahead of second placed Monaco.

The dominance of PSG in the division is clear - they have won ten league titles in the last 12 years.

Mbappe made a tremendous impact during his time at PSG as he scored 256 goals in 308 appearances and his absence from the league could see global audiences dwindle further.
