After coming down from the high of winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Messi then jumped right back into playing for his club side Paris Saint-Germain.
He won the league with the Parisiens despite a tumultuous relationship with PSG supporters - upset after the club was knocked out of the Coupe de France and the Champions League.
Messi's contract expired in the summer and after considering his future options, he chose to move to Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.
His decision was immediately rewarded by a Leagues Cup title in the summer - but fell in the US Open Cup final and missed MLS Cup Playoffs.
