England are set to take on the Netherlands on Wednesday night as the two nations do battle in the Euro 2024 semi-finals.
The Three Lions have underwhelmed at the tournament in Germany despite their run to the final four, winning just one of five games in normal time against Serbia, Denmark, Slovenia, Slovakia and Switzerland.
Their displays have led to Gareth Southgate coming under significant pressure and the England boss admitted this week that his players have been guilty of playing with fear at Euro 2024.
And, in the the latest episode of Mail Sport's It's All Kicking Off Euros Daily podcast, Ian Ladyman and Oliver Holt discussed Southgate's claims and whether or not England's play had been inhibited.
Holt admitted that you can tell that 'the players started this tournament fearfully', which he added was a 'real shame', while Ladyman insisted England 'are going to have to step up by 20 or 30 per cent' to beat the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, the pair also discussed France's semi-final defeat by Spain, which was one of the games of the tournament, while they looked at Southgate's future as England boss and continued the build-up to the Three Lions' semi-final later tonight.
