After dragging England into extra-time following an insipid performance against Slovakia, Nathan Salt questioned Jude Bellingham's decision to seemingly take aim at England's supporters on It's All Kicking Off.

The Round of 16 clash offered Gareth Southgate's side the opportunity to banish the demons that have seemingly been haunting England throughout the tournament, despite a strong defensive record.

While Kobbie Mainoo was handed his first start in the tournament, Southgate opted to stick with a front four that has so far failed to live up to its massive collective talent in Germany.

Once again England struggled and found themselves chasing Ivan Schranz's opening goal for an hour of football before a moment of stoppage-time brilliance from Jude Bellingham kept the nation's hopes alive.

Harry Kane headed home almost immediately after the restart to securean anxious victory and set up a clash with Switzerland, but it was Bellingham's whose post-match comments made an impression.

Speaking following the game Salt insisted he didn't understand the Real Madrid star's remarks about England's fans.

Dominic King reasoned that Bellingham should be given the 'benefit of the doubt' for his comments, particularly given the dramatic circumstances that preceded them.
