Liverpool's Luis Diaz and Joe Gomez have emerged as targets for the Saudi Arabian Pro League as they look to attract younger players this summer.

Diaz, 27, has been one of Liverpool's stand-out performers since arriving from Porto for a relative bargain £37.5million in 2022 while Gomez, also 27, has just come off one of his best seasons at Anfield having been utilised in a number of positions across defence and midfield.

However, there is a belief that both could be open to a move this summer following Jurgen Klopp's departure and the arrival of Arne Slot from Feyenoord. Liverpool will naturally look to tweak their squad and the Saudi League believe there is an opportunity to test their resolve over the coming weeks.

The Saudi Pro League's chief executive and former Chelsea director of football Michael Emenalo has spoken openly about their quest to sign 'exceptional' players in their prime for this summer.

As with forward Mohamed Salah, Gomez was an option for the Saudi League last year but Liverpool were reluctant to deal as the versatile defender was such an intrinsic squad member, indeed he went on to make 52 appearances last season.

Joe Gomez, who was considered for a move last summer, is also potentially going to leave

Paris St Germain have also considered a move for Diaz though are assessing a number of options for the left wing position following Kylian Mbappe's departure. Another area they which to strengthen is centre-back which has led them to look at another Liverpool player Ibrahima Konate though that has yet to develop with the France international happy at Anfield.

A centre-back is high on Liverpool's list of transfer priorities this summer with Joel Matip having left and the question mark over Gomez's future but they would be loathe to lose Konate just yet. Jarell Quansah's development does give them another strong option but they are looking for another top level addition.

Lille's highly-rated Leny Yoro is aware of interest from Liverpool and PSG but has been asked to wait for his number one choice, Real Madrid, who are expected to make an offer after the Champions League final. Yoro, 18, has a year left on contract but is valued at £50m by Lille. Madrid are hoping to prise him away for around £30m with the knowledge he wishes to join them.
