Liverpool shared a special message to Alan Hansen on social media, with the club legend seriously ill in hospital on his 69th birthday.
The Reds and Scotland legend Hansen was hospitalised over the weekend, prompting a number of supportive messages from club and country, as well as those he worked with as a pundit.
On June 13, Hansen's 69th birthday, Liverpool once again sent their thoughts to the star and his family, while sharing a trophy-lifting picture of the defender in his playing days.
Liverpool wrote on X (formerly Twitter): 'We’re all thinking of Alan and his family on his 69th birthday.'
Hansen made 620 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions between 1977 and 1990, scoring 14 goals for the Reds.

Following his retirement as a player in 1991, he stepped into punditry and became one of the most popular broadcasters in the country, most notably for his work on Match of the Day, remaining with the BBC until 2014.
Well-wishes were posted across social media on Sunday evening, including from Hansen's former Match of the Day colleague Gary Lineker.
Lineker said on X (formerly Twitter): ‘Horrendous news. Thoughts are with Alan, Janet and all the family’.
