Right-handed pitcher Luis Severino has signed a one-year, $13million deal to pack his things and move across the Triborough Bridge to Citi Field and the New York Mets.
Severino - who made his major league debut with the New York Yankees in 2015 and has played his entire career in Pinstripes - will now be joining the Bronx Bombers' cross-city rivals, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Passan also says that the righty pitcher is eligible for up to $2m in performance bonuses with this deal.
It's been a tough few years for Severino's career as he's been dealing with multiple arm injuries that have seen him miss significant gametime.
This is also a bit of a headscratcher when recent performances are considered. Severino put up a 6.65 ERA last year.

Severino has played his entire career in New York - but with the rival Yankees
Severino has been hampered by injuries - having not pitched at least 20 games since 2018
But he's posted a career win-loss record of 54-37 and a 3.79 ERA along with 788 strikeouts.
Severino joined the Yankees as a free agent in 2011 - playing in their farm system for a number of years.
His debut against the rival Boston Red Sox came in 2015 - a season where he pitched eleven games in the big leagues.
While a prolific fastball pitcher with a quick spinning slider, Severino's injury history reads like a shopping list: tricep inflammation in 2016, rotator cuff inflammation in 2019, a torn UCL that required Tommy John surgery which saw him miss all of 2020 and almost all of the 2021 season, a lat strain in 2022 and a high-grade oblique strain in 2023.
Since being named an all-star in back-to-back seasons in 2018, Severino hasn't pitched in more than 20 games and has not logged more than 105 innings pitched.
