Luke Littler has revealed how a trip to WrestleMania seven years ago has inspired his walk-on music.

The 17-year-old has become a household name thanks to his heroics at the World Darts Championship at the turn of the year, which he has followed up with a string of high-profile successes.

Since becoming a hit with supporters, many will have become familiar with the teenage sensation's notorious walk-out song - 'Greenlight' by Pitbull.

Many had wondered where the inspiration for Littler's unique song choice came from and now the 17-year-old has provided the answers.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Littler posted a video of himself at a WrestleMania event seven years ago before explaining the reasoning.

Luke Littler took to social media to reveal the WWE inspiration for his iconic walk-on music

Littler shared a video of himself from a WrestleMania event seven years ago where Pitbull's 'Greenlight' - now his walk-on music - can be heard blaring out the stadium's speakers

The caption read: '7 years ago where my @OfficialPDC darts walk on music come from @WWE #Wrestlemania33 @pitbull Oh e Oh e Oh e Oh e Oh Oh Oh'.

In the video, a young Littler can be seen sitting and singing along to the song within the Camping World Stadium in Florida, which holds up to 64,000.

The song evidently resonates with the teenage star and Littler went on to explain how he had been 'singing my head off' to the music in the stadium.

According to The Sun, he said: 'Me and my dad went to Wrestlemania 33, seven years ago now, it was in Florida, Orlando.

'It was my first time being there. It was a good song, I was singing my head off as a ten years old.

'I thought that if I did make it – I was playing football at the time a little bit – then that would be my walk-on'.

Back in January, WWE extended an invite to Littler to come to WWE Live on April 19 in London, and claimed they may even play the song during the event for him.

The organisation wrote: 'We heard #WrestleMania 33 inspired your entrance music on @BBCR1, so you’re officially invited to @TheO2 on April 19 when WWE rolls through London. We might even hit @Pitbull’s “Greenlight” for you!'

Pitbull had performed alongside co-artists Flo Rida, Lunchmoney Lewis and Stephen Marley at the event back in 2017.

The wrestling organisation reached out to the teenage darts star, praising him for his sensational run to the PDC World Darts Championship final back in January

Littler recently revealed that his arm was hurt by a rowdy spectator during one of his walk-ons

Last month, Littler revealed his arm was hurt by a rowdy spectator during one of his walk-ons ahead of his Premier League victory in Belfast.

His thrilling showdown against Michael Van Gerwen was somewhat marred before he had even reached the oche, however, after his arm was grabbed and pulled.

The incident, which was not fully caught on Sky Sports' cameras, appeared to have been sparked by one punter grasping Littler as his walk-on music played.

Security guards, which flank players as they head to the stage, then intervened. It is not known whether the unnamed individual was thrown out of the venue.
