Luke Littler was back to his antagonistic best as he shushed the crowd after beating Nathan Aspinall in Thursday's Premier League quarter-final before going on to win the evening's event.

The 17-year-old darts prodigy has gained a reputation for his often hilarious interactions with the crowd and was at it again as he turned to face animated spectators on Thursday.

Luke 'The Nuke' nearly blew his chances of reaching the latest final four after initially throwing away the first leg with six missed attempts at the double.

His misfortunes continued as Littler missed three attempts to break against his close fiend and fellow Mancunian, Aspinall.

He later took control by winning the seventh leg to move into a 4-3 lead for the first time in the game and held throw before the more senior Aspinall fought back to take it to a last-leg decider.

Aspinall missed double 20 to win the game and paved the way for Littler to wrap up another victory during his debut Premier League campaign but was clearly unhappy after being jeered by fans in the crowd.

A release of emotion followed after clinching a tight victory as he turned to those criticising him and put a singe finger to his lips in a shushing motion.

He then turned back to the stand and looked furious after being booed at various points in the contest.

Aspinall watched his competitor's celebration before the pair later walked off the stage together following the game.

The Warrington-born rising star went on to win the event by beating Michael Smith in the semi-final and following that up with a dominant win over former world champion Rob Cross in the final.

Self-confessed Man United fan Littler is making a habit of being a wind-up merchant and previously rattled Liverpool fans in Merseyside recently by cupping his hands to his ears while being booed.
