Smug Left-wing luvvies were out in force this morning to gloat about the Tories' crushing election defeat.

That is despite the Labour party's vote share only increasing so far by a measly 1.6 per cent.

Arch-cheerleader Carol Vorderman led celebrations on social media alongside a slew of celebrities who all wanted their moment in the limelight after Labour's landslide.

From failed football manager Gary Neville to controversial Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, leftie champions crawled out to scoff at the results.

Former Countdown human calculator Vorderman exploded into a vicious tirade against the Tories on Channel 4 before shuffling to social media to show off her glee.

Posting to X, formerly Twitter , the former Countdown numbers guru shared a video captioned: 'POV: The Labour Party have just won a landslide in the election'

Meanwhile former England manager Gary Neville posted a photo of Jacob Rees-Mogg, who lost his seat overnight

She told Channel 4: 'Everybody out there is thinking: no more of the lies, the deceit, the corruption.'

Posting on X on Friday morning, she added: 'Johnny Mercer gone. Jacob Rees Mogg gone. Gillian Keegan gone.

'Tories we don't have to endure anymore. Here's to a new chapter. You are all AMAZING.'

Vorderman also posted a mocking video captioned: 'POV [point of view]: The Labour Party have just won a landslide in the election.'

Bursting out of a door marked Dressing Room, Vorderman mouthed to a voiceover: 'Oh my God, ok it's happening. Everyone stay calm.'

Bumping into two women carrying bundles of paper she was met by Fearnley-Whittingstall, who continued: 'Everyone stay calm. Stay [bleep] calm!'

Guardian columnist Fearnley-Whittingstall was appearing with Vorderman on Channel 4's election programme throughout the early hours of the morning.

The former Countdown presenter has become well-known for her anti-Tory tirades on social media and did not let up this evening as she launched into an explosive rant about the party.

Following the results of the bombshell exit poll, Vorderman bellowed 'I think we should get the party started', as she appeared on Channel 4's TV election coverage.

The dramatic exit poll shows Labour winning 410 of the 650 seats — a majority of 170 — just nine short of the 179 achieved by Tony Blair.

Vorderman has had a very public feud with ex-MP Johnny Mercer and his wife Felicity in recent months.

Nigella Lawson posted an emoji of a lettuce after Liz Truss - who was outlasted as PM by a lettuce - lost her seat in the election

Fellow leftie Gary Neville simply tweeted 'Morning' followed by a rose emoji, with a picture of Jacob Rees-Mogg, who lost his seat overnight, reclining on the benches of the House of Commons.

Their gushing fans agreed, with one social media replying to Vorderman and saying: 'Do not stay calm! Enjoy every minute. You're getting that party started and I'm here for it too!!!'

A second said: 'Brilliant on channel 4 tonight, Carole. You and Hugh Fearnley-W are both spot on.'

A third added: 'Pints on me in Bristol next time!'

Labour voters were similarly pleased as they awoke on Friday to find a change in government.
