Manchester United remain hopeful they can sign Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder and Dutch international, Xavi Simons, despite him reportedly already agreeing terms with Bayern Munich.
Simons, 21, is firmly on the radar of United bosses given his impressive performances at Euro 2024, and a standout season on loan from PSG, at RB Leipzig.
According to L'Equipe, United boss Erik ten Hag is thought to be an admirer of the PSG youngster, and his versatility in either a central attacking position, or out on the flanks, would make him a desirable addition to the team.
Making a deal may not be straightforward, given that PSG reportedly rejected a £42million (€50million) bid for the Dutchman last summer, and the Ligue 1 champions are believed to thought his value has soared after the European championships.
Moreover, for the Red Devils, it would supposedly mean hijacking a deal Bayern Munich already have in motion, with reports saying the German giants have already agreed personal terms with the player.

PSG are thought to be willing to do business with United, however, given the two clubs are believed to be working on a £60million (€70million) deal for Uruguayan midfielder, Manuel Ugarte.
Simons could be swayed by joining his compatriots at Old Trafford, after spending the 2022-2023 season on loan at Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven under Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has just joined Erik ten Hag’s backroom staff.
A deal for Manuel Ugarte, meanwhile, is well under way reports suggest. United are eager to continue their recruitment of players from the French top-flight after announcing the capture of Leny Yoro and are now stepping up their move for Ugarte.
The Uruguayan midfielder shares the same agent as Yoro – Jorge Mendes – and contract terms have been agreed upon, with Ugarte wanting to make the switch even without United being able to offer Champions League football, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

However, Mail Sport understands there is currently no agreement between the two clubs and PSG won't sell the player for less than £59m.
The 23-year-old moved to Paris in a £42m deal from Sporting Lisbon only last summer and PSG have been unsure on whether they want to sell a player who fits their profile of building a younger team without superstar names.
