Manchester United fans have been left fuming after their side were denied four potential penalties in their draw with Burnley.

Erik ten Hag's men failed to build on from their midweek win over Sheffield United as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Clarets at Old Trafford.

United had taken the lead in the 79th minute through Antony's first Premier League goal of the season before Zeki Amdouni earned the visitors a point from the penalty spot.

The Red Devils were denied a potential penalty in the 25th minute when Alejandro Garnacho went down inside the box from a challenge by Sander Berge.

The Argentinian was at the centre of controversy again when he was on the receiving end of a stamp by Lorenz Assignon just before the break.

The Argentinian winger then went down from a challenge by Dara O'Shea in the second-half

The winger then went down from a challenge by Dara O'Shea before the ball struck Vitinho's arm in stoppage-time from a shot by Antony.

Speaking on the latter incident, Ten Hag said: 'If you make [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka in the final a penalty then what is this [Alejandro Garnacho penalty claim]. Where is the consistency?'

United fans took to social media to display their dissatisfaction, with one saying: 'Simply no pen for the United because the referees are antiMU'.

Another wrote: 'When a referee denies giving 3 penalties and its not atleast looked at by VAR for a team, then the opposition of that team have a 1 shout for a pen and VAR jump straight on it and give it, Something has to be said.

'Why did they not review any of United claims for a penalty? Poor'.

'MAN UTD GOT ROBBED WTF,' said a fourth supporter.

Erik ten Hag Ten Hag came out fighting after boos rung around the stadium during the match

Boos were heard around Old Trafford when Kobe Mainoo was taken off and Ten Hag came out fighting after the match.

He said: 'I am the manager and have to decide what the team needs,' said Ten Hag. 'It was the right decision and totally logical to bring off very young players who are in their first year of the Premier League and feel some fatigue.

'They have both had injuries this season and I want to protect them.

'Fans need patience. I understand they want to see the skills of these players but the league gets more intense year by year and the youngsters need to adjust. That takes time.'
