Erik ten Hag accepted the blame for Manchester United’s latest shocking defeat, and admitted his players are not good enough to perform on a consistent basis.

United lost for the 11th time in 23 games this season, as Bournemouth ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at a stunned Old Trafford.

Ten Hag’s side were punished for another slow start, once again showing the worst side of their game, three days after outplaying Chelsea.

Erik ten Hag's side suffered the disappointing Premier League defeat after goals from Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi struck for the visitors.

The defeat saw United set an unwanted home record in the top-flight, as they suffered their fourth home defeat in the league during the 2023-24 campaign.

Man United set unwanted home record as the Red Devils' turbulent campaign continues with 3-0 Bournemouth defeat

Manchester United suffered a bruising 3-0 defeat by Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, their 35th loss at home since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as the club's manager in 2013.

It means that Erik ten Hag's side have now suffered more defeats at home since Ferguson left the club, than the legendary manager suffered in his 27-year spell in charge of the Red Devils, according to Squawka.

Ferguson, who won 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League trophies with the Red Devils, only lost 34 times at home during his managerial career with the club.
