Manchester United have agreed  a deal with Villarreal for the sale of academy graduate Willy Kambwala.

The 19-year-old defender made 10 appearances for the first team last season, including eight in the Premier League and two in the Old Trafford club's successful FA Cup campaign.

Kambwala joined United from French club Sochaux in 2020 and was handed his senior debut by Erik ten Hag in a 2-0 loss by West Ham last December amid a defensive injury crisis.

However, according to reports, United are ready to offload the youngster to the LaLiga club for a fee that could rise to £9.7million. The BBC report that the Red Devils will receive an initial payment of £4.6m with the rest in add-ons.

They also claim that United have included a buy-back option in the deal and have also negotiated a large sell-on fee.
