Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United have all asked about Rennes' exciting rising star Desire Doue.

The skilful 18-year old attacking midfielder has been on the radar of top clubs for over a year but his rising standards and consistency have alerted the Premier League and European elite.

Paris St Germain, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Dortmund have also made enquiries as competition heats up for the France U23 international described by teammates as the 'best youngster they have seen'.

Lille are expected to demand over £35million with substantial add ons should they agree to sell this summer.

The Ligue 1 outfit sold Jeremy Doku to Manchester City last summer for £56m and Doue, while still improving, is regarded as a player with greater potential.

Arsenal and Man United are set to battle for the signing of the talented French teenager this summer

Doue made 31 appearances in the league last season, scoring four times and providing on four assists.

He led his team in successful dribbles per game and was also the most fouled player in the squad, while his total of 64 completed dribbles put him fifth in Ligue 1 and just one behind PSG’s Ousmane Dembele.

The wonderkid has long been identified as one of the most promising young talents in France and has represented his nation at every youth age level, while he is set to play a prominent role in Thierry Henry’s squad for this summer’s Olympics.

Rennes boss Julien Stephan spoke about the interest in Doue on Sunday, saying: ‘We know today’s market, notably for the very young players.

‘He will decide through his personal ambition. I’m not naive.

‘We’re glad to have developed him during the second part of the season. He’s at risk of leaving without a single full season here, that’s a shame. I would have liked that; that would have been an ideal situation.’
