Manchester United youngster Joe Hugill has lifted the lid on Ruud van Nistelrooy's influence of the attacking department following the Red Devils legends' return to the club as Erik ten Hag's assistant.
The 20-year-old grabbed United's second goal in a 2-0 win against Rangers at Murrayfield on Saturday, as the Old Trafford secured a victory in the second pre-season fixture.
Supporters would have been enthused to see new signing Leny Yoro for the first time but the fixture also showed early signs of Van Nistelrooy's influence on youngsters like Hugill, who spent part of last season on loan in League One with Burton Albion.
The Dutchman was again in the dug out on Saturday, following his appointment to Ten Hag's revamped backroom staff for the new campaign.
And Hugill revealed that the former PSV manager has been a great source of information even only a few weeks into his role.

'We've been doing a few shooting drills and he's been giving us a few tips,' he said. 'But obviously it's massive having Ruud here especially for people like myself who are young and coming up.
'To have him in the building to just ask questions is massive.
'In and out of possession. We were massively out of possession here - so work rate, getting back in. And then in possession doing what a striker needs to do. Battle up there and then when you get in front of the goal being composed.'
Earlier this month, United confirmed Van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake as Ten Hag’s new No 2s in a move that saw Mitchell van der Gaag leave the club and Steve McClaren become senior first-team coach.
Forwards coach Benni McCarthy and goalkeeper coach Richard Hartis also left, while Darren Fletcher – who gave up his title of technical director to Jason Wilcox – has formally joined the first-team coaching staff.
It's the return of Van Nistelrooy, who scored 150 goals in 219 games for United between 2001 and 2006, that has excited fans most. Ten Hag, who hopes the 47-year-old’s knowledge of the halcyon days under Sir Alex Ferguson will rub off on his players, spoke in glowing terms of his compatriot following his appointment.
‘First of all his character,’ said Ten Hag. ‘It has brought him so far and it’s an example to everyone in the building. He will bring some DNA of Manchester United with that character: such a strong driver and that is also what he shows as a coach.
‘He has the skills and already a lot of experience by assisting the Dutch squad. In PSV (Eindhoven) he did the Under-19s and the Under-21s, and he was managing the first team.
Erik ten Hag's side face Arsenal in the United States in their next pre-season fixture next week
'So much experience but so young and very ambitious and very driven. With his skills and his intelligence, he will help all the players and the team.’
United's next pre-season fixture sees then lock horns with Arsenal on July 28 in the opening clash of their tour of the United States. The Red Devils then face Real Betis on August 1 and Liverpool three days later.
They then return to the England for the Community Shield against Premier League winner Manchester City.
