Manchester United have reportedly made a decision regarding Donny van de Beek's future.

The midfielder has returned to United following his loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt in the second half of last season.

Although the German club had an option to sign van de Beek permanently for £9.5million they elected not to do so.

The 27-year-old has one year remaining on his current contract at United.

Van de Beek has endured a frustrating time since joining United from Ajax in 2020, with his opportunities having often been limited.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, United are looking to sell van de Beek this summer.

United are eager to recoup the £35million fee that they paid to sign him from Ajax, with van de Beek wanting a fresh start elsewhere.

United manager Erik ten Hag reportedly doesn't see van de Beek as part of his plans

During his time at United van de Beek has made 62 appearances. In the Premier League he has been restricted to just six starts and has been an unused substitute on 44 occasions.

In the second half of last season van de Beek played only eight games for Frankfurt.

Van de Beek, who had a loan spell at Everton in 2022, has also struggled with injuries and hasn't been involved with the Netherlands squad since 2021.

United confirmed a contract extension for manager Erik ten Hag on Thursday but van de Beek doesn't appear to be part of his plans.
