Marcus Rashford has left Manchester United supporters concerned about Bruno Fernandes' future at the club after his recent reply to the club captain.

Fernandes' future is the subject of intense speculation after the United star was linked with a potential summer departure from Old Trafford before addressing the situation on Wednesday evening.

United's final home game of the season was celebrated alongfside a convincing 3-2 victory over Newcastle that also brought up Rashford's 400th match for his boyhood club.

Fernandes and his United team-mates regularly interact with each other on social media platforms, with the Portuguese issuing words of support to Rashford after bringing up his new appearance total.

However, Rashford's 10-word response to his skipper could elude to either him or Fernandes leaving United at the end of the season.

Rashford's own future at Old Trafford is yet to be decided after a difficult season

After Fernandes commented on Rashford's post; stating: '400 more to come', the England international replied adding: 'It's been a pleasure sharing the pitch with you bro,' alongside a heart emoji.

Fans were left convinced that Rashford knows something they don't about Fernandes' long-term future in England's north-west as the interaction between the pair quickly went viral.

'That sounds like a goodbye,' commented one Man United supporter speculating on the situation.

Another added: 'Bruno ain’t leaving. Rashford’s future is still open.'

Fernandes offered some type of reassurance to United supporters wanting him to extend his stay at the 13-time Premier League champions, telling Sky Sports after Wednesday's win over Newcastle: 'I will be here.

Rashford and Fernandes have both been linked with possible summer departures from United

'The club needs to want me and the club wants me to be a part of the future so as I said always – I don’t want to be a player the club doesn’t want to have.

'If for some reason they don’t want me I will go.'

Meanwhile, Rashford's current place amongst Erik ten Hag's team isn't fully secured either following a poor individual season for the boyhood fan whose position in England's upcoming European Championship squad is also under threat.

'I will be here,' Fernandes told Sky Sports as he looked ahead to next season.
