Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews' MRI revealed that he suffered a cracked fibula and ankle ligament injury against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Friday that the Ravens have deemed it a long-term injury and will consult Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte next week for more information.

Andrews was forced to leave the game in the first quarter after a 'hip-drop' tackle from Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson.

Andrews was less than ten yards away from the end zone when Wilson approached him from the left side. Wilson then pinned Andrews' left ankle with his hip, firmly planting his weight on it as he grabbed Andrews for the tackle.

As Wilson landed on the back of his legs, the tight end's ankle could be seen bending at an awkward angle to leave him in visible pain, before he was tended to quickly by Ravens medical staff and taken out of the game.

Although the Ravens secured the 34-20 victory, coach John Harbaugh took aim at Wilson for the tackle, calling it unnecessary.

'It was definitely a hip-drop tackle, and it is being discussed,' Harbaugh said. 'It's a tough tackle. Was it even necessary in that situation?'

The hip-drop tackle, which has been frowned upon in the NFL in recent years was not the only rough play from Wilson as three out of his nine tackles resulted in Baltimore players needing treatment.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. both made trips to the medical tent after colliding with Wilson.

While Jackson was able to continue, Beckham Jr was ruled questionable before returning with a shoulder brace.

When asked about Wilson's tackles injuring three of Baltimore's players, Bengals coach Zac Taylor simply replied: 'I don't know anything about that.'

The Ravens have a comfortable 8-3 record with six games remaining in the season. The AFC North leaders are set to take on the LA Chargers on the 26th.
