Do not expect Mark Wahlberg to make an appearance on the Pat McAfee show anytime soon.

The actor and former Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch frontman appeared on Monday's ESPN ManningCast, where he was interviewed by retired quarterbacks Eli and Peyton Manning.

But after failing to match the Manning brothers' on-air energy, Wahlberg has been pilloried throughout the week for his listless exchange with the Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks.

And on Wednesday, McAfee joined the fray, calling Wahlberg's interview 'horrendous.'

'Do people tell him, ''Hey, people are going to watch you do this?'' or does he think this is all off-air and then people are going to talk about the interview with Mark Wahlberg?' McAfee asked his panel.

ESPN's Pat McAfee took aim at Mark Wahlberg, calling his ManningCast interview 'horrendous'

Mark Wahlberg wasn't being arraigned in court, but was actually being interviewed on ESPN

Mark Wahlberg appears to be in absolute anguish while talking football with the Mannings

'You don't have to talk to two Hall of Famers on 'Monday Night Football,' the most-watched one in the history pretty much of 'Monday Night Football.' You don't have to be here Marky Mark.'

One co-host suggested to McAfee that the interview took place well after Wahlberg's famously early bedtime and the former NFL punter played along.

'Maybe that was him walking in his sleep,' he said. 'Maybe he was asleep that entire time.

'OK, so sleeping Mark Wahlberg was on ManningCast. OK, that's a whole different character. We were judging this as an awake human being, who got a chance to be part of the most-watched Monday Night Football game in a long time.'

McAfee wasn't entirely critical of Wahlberg and even praised several of the 52-year-old's recent endeavors.

Many viewers accused Mark Wahlberg of being on the ManningCast against his will

'He has a great line of clothing with Municipal,' McAfee said. 'I love his prayer app, too, that he promotes. I love how jocked he is, the movies he makes, I watch Entourage.'

In spite of all that, though, Wahlberg simply doesn't translate to live television, according to McAfee.

'He is a terrible interview,' McAfee concluded.

Monday’s Super Bowl rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles drew a massive audience, with an average of 28.96 viewers, making it the most watched MNF game in nearly three decades.
