Free agent wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling spoke glowingly of his former quarterback - just not exactly the one from his most recent team.
Not that he was dissing Patrick Mahomes at all, but the receiver who most recently played for the Kansas City Chiefs was praising his former signal caller in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers.
Talking to Zach Gelb of CBS Sports Radio, MVS had a lot of positives to say about the gunslinger who now dons a different shade of green with the New York Jets.
'Man, he's one of the greatest teammates you'll ever find,' Valdes-Scantling said. 'He cares more about his teammates than about the game of football.
'I think that's something that people don't really understand because they get this perception of him that he's this whatever, this diva, or that he's all about himself, and that's the furthest thing from the truth.

'Aaron has taught me so much stuff on the field and off the field. He's a big advocate of just your mental health and how you approach life, not even just football, and the things that he's gone through over the years.
'He shares that and just lets you know, "Hey, I'm human, too. I may throw this football really, really well, but I'm human, too. I have bad days. I have good days." Just for him to be able to open that up and be a great friend to me, not even just a teammate, but a great friend to me.
'I'm forever indebted to him. He's one of the guys that will text me and say, "Hey, I'm proud of you", even if it's completely random. Just, "Hey, I'm reaching out to you. Love you, bro". Those are things, like I said, I haven't been his teammate in two, three years now. We and we still have that same relationship.'
Valdes-Scantling hasn't signed with a team just yet, leading Gelb to ask the receiver if he was considering teaming up with Rodgers in New York.
'I mean, me and Aaron have talked, but like I said, it's a conversation for me and my agent to talk about,' the receiver replied.
'I don't really want to talk about free agent stuff right now. I'll let that handle itself. Right now, I'm looking forward to whatever that looks like.'
