A horror crash overnight has left three teenage passengers in hospital while the driver of a stolen car is still at large after fleeing from the scene.

Emergency services were called to Southern Cross Drive in Mascot, south Sydney,  at just before 1am on Sunday to reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a Kia Cerato and a Honda Jazz.

A 13-year-old boy had to be freed from the Kia by the Rescue and Bomb Disposal Squad before being rushed to Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick in a serious condition.

Two female passengers of the Kia, aged 12 and 13-years-old, were taken to the same hospital under observation.

The driver of the Kia, which was reported stolen from Alexandria on Saturday, fled the scene.
