Sam Kerr has had a brilliant season for club and country and the Matildas superstar has decided to share a selection of her favourite mirror selfies from 2023 via social media.

Kerr had a sensational year for Chelsea, helping shoot them to an FA Cup and Women's Super League double, while also overcoming injury woes to help Australia to the World Cup semi-finals, where she scored the goal of the tournament against England.

Kerr was also runner-up in October's voting for the Ballon d'Or Feminin - recognised as the most prestigious individual honour in the women's game.

Off the pitch, the Aussie football star also made headlines by getting engaged to her partner and fellow professional player, Kristie Mewis, after months of speculation.

On Monday, Kerr took to social media to share her favourite pics, writing: 'Mirror dump to end 2023.'

The pics included three shots of the loved-up couple, alongside various other pics of teammates and friends.

Mewis responded to the post, commenting: 'So much (red love heart emoji)'.

Matildas hero goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold also chimed in, writing: 'I reckon 2024 has a couple of me in these.'

England defender and Chelsea teammate Millie Bright, who is is featured in one of the shots, commented: 'I'm here for it.'

Mewis confirmed the news of the engagement to Kerr in November.

'[She's] my biggest supporter, always listening to me nag and complain all, all of my crazy antics,' she told People magazine.

Rumours had been rife that Kerr and Mewis were engaged after Australia's biggest football star posted a photo to social media showing her wearing a gold ring on her wedding finger in September.

The couple met while they were both playing for competing clubs in the US league in 2019.

They spoke online for almost four months during the 2020 Covid lockdown before spending two weeks in quarantine together, where they quickly fell in love.

The pair continued their romance in the lead-up to the Olympics in 2021 where - following America's defeat of Australia in the semi-finals - they were photographed together.

Their on-pitch embrace made headlines as Kerr's break-up from her former longtime partner - another US club player, Nikki Stanton - had not yet become public.

November 2021 marked the first time the pair - who last met competitively at the Tokyo Olympics - had played against each other since going 'Instagram official' in August that year.

Their cross-global romance has since been heavily documented on social media with both women amassing hundreds of thousands of followers.

'We're not private people. I like sharing my story. I like sharing who I am outside of football' Kerr told UK publication Gaffer earlier this year.

'Football is 5 per cent of my life' she added.
