Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden laughed the night away as she enjoyed The Nobel Prize banquet with some of the world's brightest minds in Stockholm yesterday.

The royal 46, appeared in high spirits as she sat in-between leading physicist Pierre Agostini and renowned chemist Moungi Bawendi - both of whom were recipients of the revered prize in their respective fields this year - at the dinner in an exquisite metallic mauve gown.

She looked to be enjoying their company, chuckling and smiling during the conversation.

The eldest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf was also pictured arriving to the banquet with Pierre, wearing her brunette locks in a slick updo and accessorised with an amethyst tiara and amethyst teardrop earrings.

An ornate selection of food was presented at the tables - which were decorated with vases of colourful flower bouquets.

Earlier in the evening, Victoria stood for the Swedish national anthem as the awards commenced at the Concert Hall in the nation's capital city, and showed the majesty of her full-skirted, floor-length gown with an asymmetric neckline and detailing on one shoulder.

She was joined by her father and mother Queen Silvia. Meanwhile Victoria's husband, Prince Daniel, was sharp in a tuxedo in a row behind.

Her appearance in the Swedish capital comes after a trip to London last week, during which time she and Prince Daniel visited attractions like Kew Gardens and the Natural History Museum - and also made a glamorous appearance at the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Duke and Duchess of Västergötland appeared in high spirits as they arrived at the Royal Albert Hall in dazzling black outfits.

Victoria opted for a sophisticated monochrome ensemble, which featured light feathered fabric.

The shoulderless dress teamed perfectly with a matching wrap, which she huddled into for warmth.

Victoria accessorised her elegant look with a golden necklace band and another, more delicate chain.

She also wore statement earrings comprised of golden and black material.

Meanwhile, her husband - Crown Prince Daniel of Sweden, 50 - cut a dapper figure in a black and navy suit which featured a chic, two-toned double-breasted blazer.

He wore a matching bowtie and gelled his hair back for a sophisticated look.

Daniel opted for shiny black brogues as he and his wife posed for photos this evening.

The royal couple - who are visiting the UK - were joined by Prince William and Kate Middleton, who earlier today welcomed the guests at Windsor Castle.

The Princess of Wales brushed off the fallout from a race row this evening as she glistened in a show-stopping gown upon arrival at the Royal Variety Performance.

The glitzy event comes after Victoria and Daniel kicked off their visit to the United Kingdom yesterday

Kate, 41, paired her stunning £1,288 Talina gown from Safiyaa with an equally dazzling smile as she stepped out in Kensington, showing no sign of anguish after a turbulent week for the royal family following the release of a bombshell book.

Senior royals in the UK are said to be 'dismayed' at the row after the book by Omid Scobie mentioned two names of senior royals he claimed expressed 'concerns' about the colour of Prince Archie 's skin.

The Dutch version of his book Endgame was pulled from shelves in the Netherlands after it appeared to name the two royals - something Scobie has put down to a translation error. The pair identified in the book were named widely by media organisations around the world tonight, including the Guardian and the Times, as King Charles and Kate.

Amid the controversy, the Princess of Wales maintained a 'business as usual' attitude as she attended the annual event with Prince William and their guests, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, dressed in a black Toteme frock, and Prince Daniel.

The pair identified in the book were named widely by media organisations around the world tonight, including the Guardian and the Times, as King Charles and Kate.

However, the Princess brushed off the mentions as she arrived at the Royal Variety Performance 2023 in the show-stopping gown which featured flared sleeves and statement shoulders, plus a gem-encrusted high-neck.

She donned a chunky gem bracelet with matching earrings, carried a sparkling clutch bag and wore her thick brunette locks in bouncy curls.

Meanwhile Prince William looked sharp in a black tuxedo, and he acted as the perfect gentleman as he held out his hand for his wife as they took to the red carpet.

On arrival they met ITV executives before being introduced to Daphne Selfe, who at 95 is the world's oldest supermodel.

Excited crowds gathered outside the hall to peer through the windows for the royal arrival.

Speaking to Ms Selfe, Prince William said: 'You're modelling at 95, that is incredible,' before adding: 'They don't make you travel about too much do they?'

The Princess of Wales told Ms Selfe that she 'loved' her dress, which had red feather tassel sleeves, to which she replied that Kate was very tall.

The Princess then joked: 'I'm quite tall and I have high heels on, so I'm cheating.'

Prince William added: 'I don't have high heels on.'

The Princess of Wales and the Princess of Sweden were then presented with floral bouquets made from English & Swedish national flowers.
