Millionaire 'James Bond of crypto', 25, reveals how he fled crime-ridden London 'fearing for his life' after hammer-wielding thugs on mopeds smashed up his Lamborghini to try and steal his £200,000 Richard Mille watch

A millionaire has told how he was forced to leave London because he 'feared for his life' after hammer-wielding thugs smashed up his Lamborghini in a bid to steal his £200,000 watch.

Djordje Novakovic, a 25-year-old entrepreneur and influencer, fled crime-ridden London for Dubai last year after the 'terrifying' assault in Edgware Road, north-west London.

The self-proclaimed 'James Bond of crypto', who is worth a £35million, revealed how two masked teenagers rolled up to his £250,000 Lamborghini Hurricane Evo on mopeds before smashing up his windows with hammers, leaving him with bloodied hands.

Mr Novakovic, who used to live at the luxurious St George's Wharf in Vauxhall, told MailOnline: 'It was terrifying to be honest, thank god I'm still here and I didn't get stabbed. It was a lesson and a warning to leave the country and be more careful about my life.'

He added: 'That's why I wanted to move from London. I also had a friend who got kidnapped, one got stabbed in the legs after a nightclub in Mayfair, for me it wasn't the place to stay. Am I going to lose my life for a £200k watch? I think life is priceless, that's why I moved. I didn't feel safe at all.'

Recalling the evening attack on December 19, 2022, he said: 'That day I was wearing a Richard Mille watch which was £200,000. I was stuck in traffic [on Edgware Road].

'My car is from Switzerland so the driving side is on the left. Suddenly, I just see something going between cars and I see two guys with masks and a hammer in their hands.

'I'm not stupid, I knew what they were coming for so I put my watch in my underwear straight away.

'They stopped by my window and they had their hammers. They were about to smash my window.

'I was so scared, I was s***ting myself honestly.'

Mr Novakovic, who is originally from Geneva, Switzerland, but moved to London for university, attempted to get away but the two lanes were completely blocked with traffic.

He added: 'My car was totally smashed. It was crazy. I couldn't move further, so I had to stop. They came with the hammers and smashed my windows and they were saying: 'Where's your watch? We followed you.'

'I was like 'bro, I have no watch look at my wrist.'

'But it was scary because at the same time I was on the phone with my girlfriend. They took my phone and it was still online. They told me to leave the car so my girlfriend thought I had been kidnapped.'

She called the police. She then called my parents who live in Switzerland to say she thought I had been kidnapped. So my parents were s****ing themselves too.

'I left the car, they had knives and they asked for the key so I just threw the key at them.

'They jumped in the car, drove it one mile further and dropped it because they couldn't find anything. They smashed even more of my car, they smashed the windows, the back window, inside, and tried to open everything to see if the watch was hidden.

'When they smashed the window, I was bleeding because the window exploded. My hands were bleeding so one guy stopped and I jumped into the car and he drove me to the nearest police station.'

Mr Novakovic, who owns several luxury cars, private jets and even a pet orangutan, said he did not 'feel safe at all' in London after the incident.

He continued: 'You always think it's going to happen to others until it happens to you.

'When it happens to you, your life changes, you are thinking differently. When I go home, I am checking no one is following me. You don't live the same life after that.

'I was fearing for my life, I would have tried to punch them, if they managed to stab and kill me, what's the point? A watch isn't worth my life.

'I was just scared, I think they were very young. They were two guys on a motorbike. When I said I have no watch, one of the guys asked the other what should we do?

'The other one said 'I don't know, let's jump in the car'. They were not experienced - probably 16 or 17-year-old kids that don't really care.

'They knew they probably wouldn't face jail or face something big. If they manage to steal a £200k watch and sell it on for half price, £100k, they have won the lottery - they are delusional about the risks they are taking and killing someone.

'Police were able to locate the stolen car after it had been abandoned by the thugs.

Mr Novakovic moved to Dubai permanently last September to start 'a normal life without being scared'.

When asked if he would ever return to London, he said: 'Honestly, I don't know. I feel like the situation is getting worse and worse. I hope in the next few years I will be a dad, I don't want my child to be in a country where people get robbed.'

Mr Novakocic has made most of his wealth through crypto trading and also runs various tech companies, a marketing agency and owns real estate.

He is friends with a number of celebrities, including UK rappers Fredo, Notes and Digga D and YouTubers Yung Filly and Deji - the younger brother of KSI.

The Metropolitan Police has been approached for comment.
