New York Mets star Brandon Nimmo was rushed to the hospital after fainting in his Washington DC-area hotel room.
Nimmo spoke to the media before Monday's road game against the Washington Nationals with a can't-miss bandage on his forehead, admitting he cut his head while fainting.
Nimmo, the everyday left fielder for the Mets, is out of the lineup on Monday, but is hopeful to return Tuesday against New York's National League East rival.
'I haven't slept, I haven't ate at all,' Nimmo detailed about his fainting spell. 'We're going to try to make this not snowball. don't want to have any soft-tissue injuries today because I was not properly prepared for today.'
'We're going to try and be as ready for tomorrow as possible,' Nimmo continued.

Nimmo was officially given the 'day-to-day' injury designation by the team, meaning he could return on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old veteran is having a good season, amid the Mets mid-season Grimace-inspired charge up the standings.
While Pete Alonso or Starling Marte is likely to be the team's All-Star Game representative, Nimmo leads New York with 50 RBIs to go along with nine home runs.
Nimmo has spent his entire MLB career with the Mets organization after being drafted by the team in 2011 and working his way up to debut with the big-league team in 2016.
The Mets are still 13.5 games back of the Phillies for first place in the NL East, but are only two games back of the Cardinals for the second Wild Card spot.
Nimmo getting back into the lineup sooner, rather than later, can keep New York's playoff hopes alive deeper into the season.
