It's a time of change at Anfield and Mohamed Salah has decided to make a big one too by chopping off his trademark afro.

Jurgen Klopp's unforgettable nine-year tenure has come to an end with the German making way for incoming manager Arne Slot

Salah was with Klopp for seven of those years, becoming one of the best players in the world under his guidance.

And he has marked the beginning of a new era by adopting a new look and shaving off his trademark afro.

Salah and his Liverpool team-mates are on their holidays and no vacation post this summer is likely to shock Reds fans more than Salah's on Friday.

Mohamed Salah took to social media to show off his new look while on vacation

The Egyptian took to Instagram to share a photo of himself posing in front of a mirror in what looks to be a hotel room and added the sweat emoji.

And despite the dim lighting supporters were quick to notice the radical change to his appearance.

The post had amassed over 300,000 likes in one hour with thousands of comments related to the haircut.

Speculation is mounting over the Egyptian's future at the Merseyside club, with Salah's contract at Anfield set to expire in 2025.

Salah's trademark afro helped make him one of the world's most recognisable players

The 31-year-old, who had been linked with a mega-money move to Saudi Arabia, having been targeted last summer.

Despite that, Salah offered a big clue on his social media earlier this month that he could be staying at the club.

Salah stated: 'We know that trophies are what count and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season. Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell.'
