Moises Caicedo has scored first goal for Chelsea on the final day of the season, with an incredible strike from the half-way line against Bournemouth.

The Ecuadorian international has found it tough in his first season at Stamford Bridge, since joining the club for a British record £115m fee.

But the 22-year-old finally got off the mark for the Blues with a goal which will be seen as one of the best of the season.

Bournemouth keeper Neto rushed out to clear the ball with Raheem Sterling rushing through on goal.

However, the ball fell through to Caicedo, who from the halfway line found the back of the net with an astonishing strike.

Caicedo has had a tough first season at Chelsea since arriving for a British record fee but has finished the season strongly, and concluded it with one of the goals of the season

Chelsea fans were delighted with the goal, with one writing on social media: 'Caicedo WTF. WHAT A GOAL OMG.'

Another supporter wrote: 'The goal from Caicedo was insane. Deserved one after his form recently. Finally proving how important he can be in midfield.'

A third commented: 'Caicedo's first in a Chelsea shirt might have won goal of the season.

Another described the goal as 'unreal' for a defensive midfielder, while a fifth wrote: 'Caicedo made my day. What a ridiculous goal.'

The signing of Caicedo has epitomised the same struggles that many of Chelsea's new additions have suffered over the past two seasons.

Caicedo struggled for large parts of the season following his British record transfer fee.

However, he has stepped up in recent weeks for Mauricio Pochettino's side as they pushed for a European place.

Chelsea went into their clash with Bournemouth, knowing that a fifth win on the bounce would be enough to seal them a place in next season's Europa League.

Future continues to mount though over the future of Pochettino, with Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital yet to make a decision.
