Fans have accused Morgan Rogers of stealing Cole Palmer's celebration during Aston Villa's Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday evening. But, that's simply not the case.
The celebration in question - which sees the player's rub their arms and puff their cheeks out as if they were 'ice cold' - was first performed by Rogers during his time at Middlesbrough.
The Chelsea star liked the celebration and decided to copy it after netting either side of the of Noni Madueke's goal during the Blues' 3-2 win over Luton in December 2023.
When asked about it after the game, Palmer told TNT that Rogers had used the celebration after scoring for Boro and that he had told the 21-year-old that he would do the same next time he found the net.
Speaking to the broadcaster, Palmer - who spent time with Rodgers at the Manchester City academy - said: 'My boy Morgz did one for Middlesbrough, so I told him I'd do it.'

The Chelsea star has continued to use the celebration, pulling it out against the likes of Everton as well.
Rogers repaid the favour by performing the same celebration on Saturday evening during Aston Villa's clash with Chelsea. A decision that didn't sit too well with the Chelsea fans.
Rogers scored in the 42nd minute of the game to extend Aston Villa's lead to 2-0 and decided to pull out the move while on the same pitch as Palmer.
Football fans took so social media to accuse Rogers of copying Palmer, but little did they know it was actually the former Middlesbrough that executed the celebration first.
One fan wrote: 'No way Morgan Rogers pulls out Cole Palmer's celebration against Chelsea'. Another added: 'Morgan Rogers doing Cole Palmer’s goal celebration is cold still, s*** housery at its finest.'
One support wrote: 'Morgan Rogers doing Cole Palmers celebration lol. Everyone’s been dunking on each other this season init'. Another added: 'Morgan Rogers bussing Cole palmers cele.'
However, some fans did note that it was in fact Palmer that 'stole' the celebration. One social media user wrote: 'Tbf that’s Morgan Rogers celebration originally Cole Palmer admitted he stole it'.
Rogers has been on fine form for Aston Villa since his arrival earlier this year. As it stands, he's been involved in four Premier League goals in his last five games (3 goals, 1 assist).
Rogers signed for Villa during the January transfer window. He had been the subject of a number of bids from the Premier League side throughout January, with the two clubs finally agreeing a fee of £15million.
Rogers had joined Middlesbrough last summer but impressed for the Championship side with seven goals and nine assists, scoring against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
Therefore, Aston Villa decided to pine after the England youth international - who came through the ranks at local rivals West Brom, before spells at Lincoln, Blackpool, Bournemouth and Man City.
