Muhammad Ali's grandson Biaggio Ali Walsh claimed a stunning knockout win against Joel Lopez on Friday night. 

The 25-year-old came into the bout as the underdog up against the unbeaten Lopez on the undercard of the Professional Fighters League 2024 in Washington, DC.

Walsh dropped his opponent early in the second round before he was able to recover, but he continued the onslaught to clinched an impressive victory which takes his record to 6-1-0. 


The American had hinted that the fight could be his last as an amateur before the bout and the manner of his win will spark further rumours of an imminent step up. 

Afterwards he admitted that he is 'still getting used to everything' and revealed that he will consult his coach on the next best step for his career.

Walsh set up the victory with a massive looping right hook in the second round of the bout

The 25-year-old hinted after the fight that he could be set to make the step up to professional 

'There's so much going on in my mind right now.' He said. 'I'm still an amateur so I'm still getting used to just everything. To get this kind of experience as an amateur is insane.

'I'm super blessed and grateful. I don't know, I'll sit down with my coach and see what happens.

'But I'll definitely announce soon, so everybody will know.'

Walsh made his debut with the PFL promotion in 2022 with an incredible 45-second knockout of Tom Graesser. 

Friday's win was his fourth of the year after securing stoppages against Isaiah Figueroa, Travell Miller and Ed Davis.
