Daniel Sturridge may have earned himself a reputation as a mystic with a strikingly accurate prediction of how the clash between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid would unfold.

Shortly before the teams walked out at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night, the former Liverpool and Chelsea striker shared his thoughts on the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between the two European giants.

'Sane will be a big problem tonight. Goal for him and a pen for Kane,' he wrote on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

Sturridge's call could not have been more accurate.

With Bayern trailing 1-0 to Vinicius Jr.'s opener, Leroy Sane lashed in a stunning equaliser eight minutes into the second half to draw the hosts level.

Daniel Sturridge stole the show with an incredibly accurate prediction for Bayern vs Real

Making his first start in a month after recovering from a pelvic injury - which required him to remain out to warm up at half-time rather than head back to the dressing room - the former Manchester City was a thorn in Real's side until he was substituted with 87 minutes gone.

Four minutes after Sane's equaliser, the second part of his prediction also came to pass as Harry Kane converted a penalty to put Bayern 2-1 up.

Vinicius eventually completed his brace from the spot seven minutes from time as Real rescued a draw ahead of next week's second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

And it did not take long for fans on social media to ask Sturridge for more predictions, verging from the outcome to the FA Cup final to some more bizarre requests.

'Am I getting a girlfriend this year mate?,' a user wrote in reply to the Sky Sports pundit's tweet.

Another asked Sturridge 'who is gonna win the league?', while a third added: 'Can you tell me the exact game that city will drop points please?'

One X user, meanwhile, wondered whether Chelsea would secure a European spot this season.

Some requests were a bit more personal.

'Am I getting a girlfriend this year mate?,' one post read, while another fan asked for the lottery numbers.

But Real manager Carlo Ancelotti was disappointed with his players' attitude, calling them 'soft' for defending too deep.

The Italian was critical of his team's commitment after Vinicius' opener as Bayern struck twice in four minutes early in the second half to turn the game around.

'The result is good but on a level of play we could have done better,' he told Spanish broadcaster told Movistar Plus+.

'Bayern showed their best version and we didn't. We have to improve for next week.

'In the first half we defended but with little intensity, in the second half when they took the lead we started to press a bit more, but not enough.

'The feeling was that we were comfortable, but we lacked intensity. We gave them too many chances to take control of the game. We didn't want to play in a low block and we went on doing that. We were soft.'
