NASCAR driver Josh Berry suffered a life-threatening wreck at Coke Sugar Zero 400, as his car went off track before flipping over and smashing into the fence.

The 33-year-old was in good standing to finish on the podium in Daytona, before the accident took place with just two laps to go on Saturday night.

Berry was trailing Austin Cindric at the time.

According to NASCAR's official X account, Berry has been 'evaluated and released from the infield care center.'

He even gave a thumbs up to the crowd after he got out of his car.

Berry, 33, found himself trapped for a while after his race car totally flipped on the track

Footage from NBC shows Berry's car going off the rails after a bump from Cindric's car.

Cindric then took the opportunity to expand on his lead while Berry and his car went through the motions of the wreck.

However, it was Harrison Button who declared the winner of this weekend's race.

Kyle Busch finished second while Christopher Bell came in third.

Cendric eventually ranked 18th out of the 40 drivers competing.

Several NASCAR fans demanded for Cendric to face punishment for derailing Berry.

'Cindric deserves to be suspended,' a user on X said.

Berry amazingly emerged out of the crash unscathed and gave a thumbs up when checked out

'Cindric should be suspended. For Life. No talent,' someone else wrote.

'Cindric is such a dangerous driver. No reason he should be in Cup racing like that,' another person shared.

'Cindric is lucky he didn't flip either,' a different user pointed out.

Earlier this month, Austin Dillon made headlines after hitting fellow NASCAR star Joey Logano in Turn 4 of the final lap at Richmond Raceway.

Logano ended up first in the race - his first win in two years - although Logan called him a 'piece of c**p' post race.
