The hunt for a missing medical assistant has taken a dramatic twist with the arrest of NBA G League star Chance Comanche on a charge of first-degree kidnapping.

Marayna Rogers, 23, disappeared on December 6 while visiting Las Vegas from her home in Washington State.

She was last seen getting into a car with her friend Sakari Harnden, 19, who was also arrested on a kidnapping charge on December 13.

Harnden has been charged with ‘detaining Rogers against her will and without her consent for the purpose of killing her and/or inflicting bodily harm’.

Comanche, 27, was seized by the FBI on Friday and booked into Sacramento County Jail on the same charge.

Comanche was undrafted out of the University of Arizona and appeared in 24 games over the last two seasons with the Stockton Kings who are an affiliate of the Sacramento Kings

‘She left behind both her dogs, her car, and all belongings making it very unlikely that she disappeared on her own' friend Tremaine McAdams wrote on a gofundme page

‘Marayna has a boyfriend, family, friends, two dogs, and works as a surgical tech back home in Washington,’ she added

The Stockton Kings center who has 13 appearances this season Comanche was in Portland, Oregon, for the Kings’ game against Rip City Remix the day before Rodgers’ disappearance.

By December 12 he was back in California, playing in Stockton’s home defeat to Salt Lake City.

A friend of Rogers who has set up a GoFundMe appeal to pay for private investigators to help in the search said she was getting an Uber to Summerlin in the west of the city when she disappeared.

‘She never made it to Summerlin and was discovered to be missing the following morning when neither her boyfriend or close friends had heard from her,’ Tremaine McAdams wrote.

‘Marayna has a boyfriend, family, friends, two dogs, and works as a surgical tech back home in Washington,’ she added.

‘Her location was being shared with several friends and family and last showed her at a separate location in Las Vegas at 2.59am on December 12.

‘The last known location is worrisome because it is near the freeway heading towards both Reno and California.

‘She left behind both her dogs, her car, and all belongings making it very unlikely that she disappeared on her own.

‘She also had no cash or debit card at the time of her disappearance.’

Marayna's phone stopped sending information about her movements on December 12

Comanche was undrafted out of the University of Arizona and appeared in 24 games over the last two seasons with the Kings who are a developmental affiliate of the Sacramento Kings.

The 6ft 10inch power forward has played 321 minutes this season and notching up 182 points, 15 assists and 91 rebounds.

Harnden also faces a charge of theft for allegedly stealing a Rolex and was booked into Clark County Jail on a $500,000 bail where she remains ahead of court appearances on Tuesday for theft and December 28 for kidnapping.

Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Diana Sullivan ordered high-level electric monitoring if she makes bail and asked the state to ‘notify the Court immediately if the alleged victim is located alive’.

Comanche was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Sacramento County Court on Tuesday.

The Stockton Kings released him within hours of his arrest.
