Neighbors say 'jealous' husband told them he was going to kill his wife before she was found shot dead with her injured stepson at Brooklyn home

A man from Brooklyn planned to kill his wife in a jealous rage before she was shot dead, according to neighbors. 

Rosa Acevedo was identified as the woman who died in a shooting on Friday evening in East New York, Brooklyn, police confirmed. 

Acevedo, who was in her 40s, had a stepson who was badly injured in the shooting that took place inside the first floor apartment she shared with her husband.

Her husband Luis Collado, 52, allegedly told neighbors that he was going to kill his wife because he thought she had a lover. 

Victor Cruz - a neighbor of Collado and Acevedo - said: 'He was jealous. He said "I’m going to kill her, I’m going to murder her, I’m going to shoot her".'

Acevedo's stepson - 26-year-old Gustavo Acevedo - was seriously injured during the shooting.

Another neighbor that lived on Louisiana Avenue said that he saw medics rushing the stepson of the home.

'I saw them rushing [him] out to the ambulance,' the neighbor said. 

'He was all blood. His head was wrapped in a towel and he was gushing blood. It was awful.'

Police confirmed that a suspect was under arrest - but didn't confirm the identity of the killer, although neighbors suggested that Collado had planned to kill his wife. 

A handgun was located near the crime scene as police investigated the incident.
