Newcastle could be pushing into selling an exciting young winger to comply with Premier League profit and sustainability rules, according to a report.

It is possible that the Magpies will have to sell players if they want to buy this summer, with a number of their stars, including Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak, linked with moves away.

One of their players, who only arrived last summer for £6.5million, could provide an opportunity to secure some profit for the club, though reports suggest they are reluctant to part ways.

The 19-year-old went straight out on loan after joining the club from Odense Boldklub in Denmark, enjoying a season with Feyenoord in the Eredivisie under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot.

The man in question is Yankuba Minteh, who, according to The Telegraph, would now command a fee of around £40million, with the Reds interested in his services.

Minteh scored 11 goals in 33 games in the Netherlands last season, impressing Slot, who could push for the Gambia international to join him at Anfield this summer.

Reports suggest the 45-year-old believes the wide man has the potential to become one of the best young forwards in Europe, and was full of praise for him during their time working together.

'Our scouts were also impressed by his year at Odense,' Slot said of Minteh in October. 'Then (Feyenoord General Manager) Dennis te Kloese came to the technical staff.

'Minteh went to Newcastle United and the English were looking for a club to loan him to. That's how he came to us.

'He certainly doesn't lack self-confidence. His willingness to give everything is enormous. When we see his statistics, it is really impressive. Minteh runs more sprint metres against Ajax in an hour than many other boys do in two games.

'He is incredibly fast. And he wants it so badly.'

Minteh was signed by Dan Ashworth and Newcastle could earn a cool profit of over £33m if they are to receive their £40m asking price.

It is not just Liverpool who are interested in his services, however. Reports suggest the Reds, if they are to make a move, will have to fend off interest from clubs in Italy and Germany.

His potential departure would mean it would be easier for Newcastle to keep hold of the likes of Bruno Guimaraes (pictured)

Newcastle would seemingly prefer to keep hold of their man, but know they may have to offload players, and their desire to sign a new right-sided attacker means there may be an opportunity for the teenager to depart.

His departure would mean it would be easier to keep the likes of Gordon and Isak, while Bruno Guimaraes continues to be linked with a move away.

The Brazil star has a £100million release clause in his contract, valid until the end of June, and has said his future 'is in God's hands'.
