Sandro Tonali will be available to play for Newcastle United again from August 27 when his 10-month ban for betting offences expires.
The Italian midfielder was initially hit with an 18-month worldwide suspension by the Italian Football Federation last October. But his punishment was then reduced as a result of his cooperation with investigators in his home country.
Tonali will miss Newcastle's first two Premier League games of the new season but he is already permitted to train with his team-mates.
Newcastle's players are currently in Germany on a pre-season trip and Tonali was pictured on a bike ride close to the club's training base on Wednesday.
Tonali was wearing a team training shirt and shorts but it was what was on his wrist that really stood out.

The watch on Tonali's wrist appeared to be a very expensive Richard Mille Rafael Nadal watch

The 24-year-old appeared to be wearing a Richard Mille Rafael Nadal watch, which can cost upwards of £500,000.
It is currently listed for sale via montro.com for £449,835.05 but that does not include the £86,428.07 import costs.
Multiple fans spotted the luxury timepiece on Tonali's wrist in another photo and took to social media to share their findings and pass their opinions.
One tweeted: 'Tonali rocking his Richard Mille Rafael Nadal watch, worth a whopping [price] of over £400k, in the dressing room! - these guys are rolling in dough!'
Another comment read: 'If you wanted an idea of just how obscenely Premier League footballers are paid, the watch Sandro Tonali is casually wearing to Newcastle training is a Richard Mille Rafa Nadal edition. It costs half a million pounds. Or, for him, three week's wages.'
Tonali, 24, is hoping to kickstart his career after being banned from football for 10 months
He scored one goal in 12 Newcastle games last season before the ban stopped him in his tracks
Tonali's contract with Newcastle is actually worth £120,000 per week but he has not been receiving this in full during his suspension after taking a voluntary pay-cut.
He played just 12 games for the Magpies last season following his £52million arrival from AC Milan in July 2023.
