Lorius Karius and his fiancee Diletta Leotta were denied entry when trying to enter one of Berlin's most famous nightclubs.
The couple, who got engaged in February, were in the German capital as part of some mid-season holidays for the Newcastle shotstopper.
Upon their travels, one of the attractions that they wanted to visit was famous club Berghain - which is renowned for its sex parties, techno music and strict entry policy, according to local travel websites.
Unfortunately for the couple, they only become accustomed to the latter, as they revealed how they were brutally turned away from bouncers on the door.
According to BILD, Leotta told a friend: 'You know, Daniele (Daniele Battaglia, Italian radio presenter and singer), that I was in Berlin and you know that I told you that I really wanted to go to Berghain, this very famous one Nightclub in which there is, however, very strict entry control.

'I came to the front with my beautiful coat, you know, the yellow one with all the fringes, and with a bright smile and said 'Hello!' But guys, I've never been dumped like that before'.
RULES TO ENTER BERGHAIN
- Wear dark clothing
- Dress comfortably
- Enter between 12am-2am
- Don't be too drunk
While there is no dress code required to gain entry to the club, clubbers are encouraged to opt for comfortable clothing that reflects your personal style.
Travel websites also confirm that darker clothing will be more likely to gain a clubber entry to Berghain, which is far from what Leotta was wearing.
However, she argued that it wasn't just their outfit which caused them to be turned away, as she elaborated on another of Berghain's peculiar rules.
She said: 'Loris made a mistake, among other things, because he made me go in first. Girls usually have more chances. And they looked at me like that and did that [shakes her head]'.
As well as their super-strict door policy, clubbers at Berghain are also not permitted to bring their phones inside and are asked to hand them over upon entry.
Furthermore, travel websites claim that the best time to try and enter is between midnight and 2am. It's not clear when Leotta and Karius tried to enter.
The couple shared pictures on Instagram of their time in the city, with Leotta writing: 'A lot of fun, love and beautiful tattoos in Berlino'.
Leotta admitted that her attire on the night was a likely reason they were denied entry
Last month, Leotta asked Karius to leave Newcastle due to the inconvenience of living in the area.
'Loris has people at his side who work for him,' she told Italian newspaper Tuttosport. 'I hope he makes the best decision for his career.
'I live in Milan, so let's say being close to Milan would be ideal for us. I always tell him, players who come to Serie A then fall in love with Italy and often stay there forever. I think that could happen to him too'.
The couple began dating in October 2022 before having a child in August the following year and then getting engaged in February this year.
