Bucs safety Antoine Winfield Jr. has become the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history after agreeing to a massive new deal.

As reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Winfield Jr. is signing a four-year, $84.1million deal with Tampa Bay.

The contract also guarantees him $45million.

Winfield, 25, was named a first-team All-Pro for the first time following last season.

He tied for the league lead in forced fumbles with six, while also tallying 76 solo tackles.

The 2020 second-round pick also helped his team win the Super Bowl during his rookie season.

While Winfield Jr. has made history among defensive back, his salary is still dwarfed by several quarterbacks.

Joe Burrow is set to rake in $65.7million in total cash in 2024, while Kirk Cousins will make $62.5 and Justin Herbert will earn $56million, according to Spotrac.

Winfield Jr has earned $8.7million to date while playing on a rookie deal.

With his help, the Bucs went 9-8 last season and made the divisional round of the playoffs.
