NHL equipment companies are having trouble coping with the demands for neck guards following the tragic death of Nottingham Panthers forward Adam Johnson.
Johnson, 29, died on October during an Elite Ice Hockey League game in England after his throat was slashed by an opponent's skate blade.
And the death of Johnson, who played 13 times for the Penguins, has understandably shaken the hockey world.
According to the New York Post, there is a 'glut of back-orders on file' for neck guards throughout the NHL.
Rangers center Nick Bonino reportedly placed an order for one-piece neck protection the day after Johnson died.
But the player eventually obtained a neck guard on his own through Amazon.

Johnson's fiancee, Ryan Wolfe, read aloud a letter addressed to the man she planned to marry - calling him her 'everything.'
'You've been so amazingly supportive and kind to me since the day we met,' she said, with her sister alongside her. 'And I couldn't have been more grateful for it. I always thought that maybe if I was lucky enough, after a lifetime together, that I might start to be more like you.
His obituary read, in part, 'He was many things to many people, but to those who were lucky enough to be loved by Adam knew he was thoughtful, patient and genuinely authentic.
'He loved his fiancee, family, and friends above all else. His loving and quiet demeanor will be eternally missed.'
