Police in Chicago have been called to the city's Northwestern University after reports there is alive shooter on the campus.
Shots have been reported outside the university's Wieboldt Hall, according to a notice posted on the school's website at 9.12pm.
'There is an Active Threat event on the Chicago campus,' the university's department of safety and security wrote.
'Run, Hide, Fight. Take proper shelter.
'Lock and/or barricade doors. Await further information.'
It was not immediately clear if anyone has been injured. Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the situation.
