Notorious Dodge Hellcat driver who's infuriated Seattle residents with noisy late-night revving to rack-up Instagram followers gets taught very harsh lesson by judge

A notorious influencer who has been terrorizing Seattle residents with his late-night, noisy driving stunts has been taken into custody.

Miles Hudson, the so-called 'Belltown Hellcat', was detained on Monday following a court appearance.

The 20-year-old is accused of taunting his neighbors by revving his Dodge Charger Hellcat, then flooring at speeds up to and over 100mph.

He appeared in court on Monday in connection with stalking and harassment charges,  as well as two counts of reckless driving.

Magistrate Judge Seth Niesen set his bail at $5,000 for the stalking charges and a $2,500 for the alleged driving offences after Hudson pleaded not guilty.

But he has been ordered to pay $83,000 in fines for noise violations stemming from his souped-up car.

Niesen also imposed additional conditions on the provocateur by banning him from posting on his Instagram or Twitch streams.

Hudson has nearly 800,000 followers on Instagram where he frequently brags about his dangerous hobby - and he has been accused of deliberately winding-up Seattle residents for content.

The harsh lesson was handed down after Hudson was spotted filming in the court room prior to his appearance before the judge in a bid to create more content.

'I want to inform the court that I've been made aware by the two officers who are here today that Mr. Hudson has been filming the courtroom on his cell phone and dangling his car keys in front of it and apparently uploading that footage,' Seattle city prosecutor Christopher Karr said, KOMO News reports.

Hudson was told to delete the posts and was also forbidden from driving his vehicle on Washington streets.

'The other obvious problem that the court seems to run into is the use of this Hellcat on the city streets,' Judge Niesen said.

'It's inexorably tied to these alleged crimes and the social media presence, which seems to be kind of the core of all these alleged criminal activity.'

Driver Miles Hudson has been the focus of numerous complaints from residents

He has been pulled over by the police a few times, and the city is now suing him over the noise he is creating

The social media personality stands accused of sending intimate images of his ex-girlfriend to her former boyfriend, which he denies.

Hudson was also accused of making a 'mockery' of the court after he showed up to the hearing wearing a face mask which he refused to remove for 'religious' reasons.

Prior to that he had patched into a remote hearing wearing a ski mask and dark glasses, before deliberately positioning his camera to obscure his features when told to remove them.

On Monday he arrived sporting a scarf which covered most of his head and face.

Hudson believes he is being targeted because of his race.

'There are way bigger issues than a black man with a nice car who makes noise occasionally,' he told the Seattle Times.

But the city attorney alleges Hudson 'flaunts' his Charger's excessive noise on his Instagram as he sets out to deliberately keep people awake.

'Mr. Hudson has cultivated online infamy by flagrantly breaking Seattle's laws and waking his neighbors with excessive noise. It's time for him to face the consequences of his actions. That's why I have requested that the court find Mr. Hudson in default and award the City all applicable penalties,' City attorney Ann Davison wrote in a statement.

Known as the Belltown Hellcat, Hudson has drawn the ire of people living in the area including the Seattle Police who have rarely managed to pull him over

Hudson's online success is now fueling his need for speed as he continues to produce more extreme videos of himself, tearing through the downtown cityscape

In one video, the lights of Fourth Avenue in Seattle all turn to green encouraging Hudson to put his pedal to the metal reaching triple-digit speeds

Court filings show that Hudson was supposed to submit proof that he had fixed his car's exhaust system so that it did not make the same level of noise. He is subject to $1,300 in fines for every day his car is not fixed.

'In the two months since that notice of violation, Mr. Hudson has failed to remove the illegal modifications or address the excessive noise,' the city attorney's statement says.

Aside from speeding, Seattle police also issued Hudson with four infractions and note how there have been multiple noise and speed complaints from fed-up locals kept up each night by Hudson's antics.

A Seattle police officer, who also has expertise as a car mechanic, said the exhaust of the Charger had illegally been modified to deliberately backfire, creating an 'exceedingly loud' noise.

His case for two counts of reckless driving was continued until August 12.
