Patrick Mahomes' sideline fury with the officials on Sunday spilled over onto the pitch as he shared an angry post-game moment with Josh Allen.

The Chiefs quarterback was enraged by a controversial call that saw the officials flag receiver Kadarius Toney as offside - meaning his late touchdown was ruled out.

Mahomes found Travis Kelce with 1:20 remaining before the tight end lateralled the ball to Toney, who sprinted into the endzone to give the hosts a lead.

But officials spotted that Toney had lined up in the neutral zone before the snap, drawing a flag and ultimately erasing the score, which would have given Kansas City a 23-20 lead pending an extra point.

Mahomes' last gasp attempt to keep the Chiefs' drive alive moments later fell incomplete, and the quarterback was absolutely livid on the sideline.

His fury then spilled over onto the pitch as he embraced rival quarterback Allen.

'Wildest f***ing call I've ever seen,' said Mahomes as he shook his head in disgust.

'F***ing terrible,' he added.

Moments before, Mahomes slammed down his helmet and appeared to yell at a referee, 'We played our f***ing a**es off and you call offensive offsides!'

Mahomes said after the game: 'It's tough to swallow. Not only from me, and football in general, to take away greatness like that, for a guy like Travis to make a play like that, you want to see the guys on the field decide the game.

'They're human. They make mistakes. But every week, we're talking about something... It's the call. Just in that moment. Not for myself.

'To have a flag change the outcome of the game. I've never had offensive offsides called. If it does, they warn you. There wasn't a warning the entire game.

'And then you make a call like that in the final minute? Another game, we're talking about the refs.

Mahomes' wife Brittany posted this on her Instagram story mocking the referees after the call

'It's not what we want for the NFL. It's not what we want for football.'

The Chiefs appeared to be angry at the referees because they did not give them a warning that Toney was offside.

However, as former NFL referee John Parry told ESPN's Scott Van Pelt, the call was correct and the onus is on Toney to check with the line judge.

'His right foot is ahead of the ball and ahead of the center's head, so he's clearly offside,' Parry said - adding that if Toney simply checked, then he'd likely make the adjustment.

Referee Carl Cheffers said after the game that while a warning is customary, 'no warning is required, especially if they are lined up so far offsides where they're actually blocking our view of the ball.'

Mahomes' wife, Brittany, also couldn't hide her rage at the call as as she took a video of a referee and sarcastically captioned it 'MVP'.
